The Alabama Rules of Professional Conduct (ARPC) set forth a lawyer’s ethical duty with respect to the client, court, and other parties. While a lawyer’s duty under the Alabama Legal Service Liability Act generally derive from performance of legal services, a lawyer’s obligation under the ARPC is much broader. A violation may occur based on an attorney’s conduct outside the practice of law and for the attorney’s employees.
